productivity.

i have been meaning to reupholster my bench for quite sometime. this afternoon i had some down time so i thought i would tackle that project. when i purchased the bench at a thrift store the lime green fabric had faded to a dirty somewhat rusty hue. when i had finished with a new fresh fabric it turned out really good.

i also got around to putting up a mesh net over my vegetable garden so i won't have any critter culprits anymore. which would be sad because i have some pretty fat veggies coming in. today has been productive to say the least. i love days like that. hope all is well with everyone.

throwing down the color

i found this perfect size canvas out thrifting one day for only 2.50! steal right? i have been redecorating my house a little and wanted to get rid of my old artwork i had on the walls.
so i painted the canvas white and began with my own colors
i felt i needed another color
here it is hung up on the wall. i don't think i am finished with it but the great thing about this canvas is that it was so cheap. when i am bored with this painting i will just throw something else up there.

so that is what i have been up to lately..oh and this.

lyric wall art - - a project

a few days ago my friend and i were feeling crafty. we made cute lyric wall art inspired by this pretty cute blog. here is how mine turned out!

we took a vintage paint-by-number and applied our stickers.

once the stickers are applied, pour on the paint..

i decided to speed up the process a little bit..

once it had completely dried i carefully peeled off the stickers.

this little project added so much personality to my kitchen. i love it!

halloween fun

i am really excited to share with you my latest project. halloween is my favorite time of year, the spooky feeling in the air, the crisp leaves, and the excitement of family and friends gathering. it is a magical time. i made a darling halloween wreath that is made out of candy corn and styrofoam.

 1. gather all your supplies and heat up your glue gun
 2. begin to glue candy corn around your wreath. it can be a little intimidating when you put your first candy one because if your like me you want it to be purrty perfect!
3. i alternated each way i placed my candy to make a zig-zag affect. once i got the hang of my groove i zoned out and was more of a wreath making zombie! (good thing i had good albums to listen to!)
4. almost done!!

i am really happy at how cute it turned out. this project also gave me a kick start to decorate my house for halloween! if you decide to make your own halloween wreath post pictures let me see your creation. different candies would be cute. (halloween lollipops, pumpkin candy corn)
